Laura remembers leaving her first yoga class having notices for that one hour she wasn't completely controlled by rushing and racing thoughts. She left feeling calm, energised, excited and somewhat taller. she instantly fell in love with the practice and has continued on an almost daily basis since. She is motivated by the thought of helping, inspiring and serving other people in the same way and believes she has experienced some of the transformative and healing powers of yoga. She wants to encourage people to keep stepping on the mat to gain a sense of awareness and strength in both mind and body. She likes to practice and teach a variety of styles to keep it authentic, balanced and most imprortantly fun!
Emma first tried a yoga class at university, utilising the practice to help combat the stress of studying. However this did not become a consistent practice until starting work as a Paramedic. Emma soon needed an outlet for her workload, a place to escape after some traumatic days. Her mat was her safe place, a place to be vulnerable and learn how to deal with her day to day stressors. The benefits became a passion, from here she decided she wanted to share those benefits with others and met Laura on their teacher training in London. Emma is passionate about the benefits of yoga within healthcare, utilising medical knowledge to enhance her practice and creating a safe place and learning environment for her students to gain the most out of their practice.
Emma & Laura met during their 200hr Teacher Training with Sun Power Yoga and are so excited to welcome you to their retreat in 2020!
